Community rules

Verse comments are a shared space for readers of this Bible. These rules keep it safe and useful for everyone.

Be kind.
No insults, threats, hateful or demeaning language toward anyone, including people of other faiths or churches.
Stay on the verse.
Comments belong to the verse they are posted on: what it means to you, how it has helped you, a question about it.
No ads, no contact details.
No links, phone numbers, messenger IDs, products, fundraising or recruitment of any kind.
No sectarian fighting or proselytizing.
You may share your faith; you may not attack other denominations, promote groups, or push readers to join anything.
No private information.
Do not post anyone's name, address or other personal details, including your own.
Nothing sexual, violent or illegal.

How moderation works

Every comment passes an automatic filter. Comments with abusive language, links or contact details are rejected on the spot; comments touching sensitive topics are held until a person reviews them.
Anyone can report a comment from its ⋯ menu. A comment reported by several readers is hidden automatically, and every report is reviewed.
You can block a user from the same menu; you will not see their comments again on this device.
You can delete your own comments at any time. Devices that keep breaking the rules lose the ability to comment.
Comments are anonymous: we store a random device id and the display name you chose, nothing else about you.
