耶利米哀歌 Lamentations

耶利米哀歌是一卷写在废墟上的诗。公元前 586 年，巴比伦大军攻破耶路撒冷，圣殿被焚，君王被掳，先祖的城「先前满有人民，现在何竟独坐」。传统认为流泪的先知耶利米坐在焦黑的城门口举哀，写下这五首哀歌。前四章按希伯来字母顺序写成离合诗——仿佛要把无法言说的悲恸，一个字母一个字母地数算在神面前。

这卷书教我们如何哀伤。诗人不回避现实的惨烈，也不掩饰这场倾覆出于耶和华公义的管教；他让眼泪流尽，让疑问问完。然而就在全书的正中心，黑暗裂开一道光：「我们不至消灭，是出于耶和华诸般的慈爱……每早晨，这都是新的。你的诚实极其广大」（哀 3:22-23）。盼望不在于环境改变，而在于神的信实从不改变。

哀歌提醒今天的读者：信仰里有眼泪的位置。耶稣自己也曾望着耶路撒冷哀哭；在十字架上，他担当了我们应受的倾覆，使哀伤之人可以得安慰。当人生陷入废墟，本书给我们祷告的语言——可以哀、可以问，最终却仰望那位「并不甘心使人受苦」的主，求他「复新我们的日子，像古时一样」。

Lamentations is poetry written in the rubble. In 586 BC the Babylonian army broke through the walls of Jerusalem; the temple went up in flames, the king was dragged into exile, and the city once "full of people" sat deserted. Tradition pictures Jeremiah, the weeping prophet, seated among the charred gates composing these five laments. The first four are acrostics, each verse beginning with a successive letter of the Hebrew alphabet — as if grief too deep for words had to be counted out before God, letter by letter.

This little book teaches us how to grieve. The poet refuses to soften the horror of what happened, and refuses to deny that the catastrophe was the LORD's righteous discipline; he lets the tears fall and the questions stand. Yet at the exact center of the book, light breaks through the darkness: "Because of the LORD's great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness" (Lamentations 3:22-23). Hope rests not on changed circumstances but on the unchanging character of God.

Lamentations reminds today's reader that faith has room for tears. Jesus Himself wept over Jerusalem, and on the cross He bore the ruin our sins deserved, so that those who mourn might be comforted. When life collapses into rubble, this book lends us a language for prayer — permission to lament and to ask why — while finally lifting our eyes to the Lord who "does not willingly bring affliction," pleading, "Restore us to yourself... renew our days as of old."
